Tsukii Castle Ruins / Tsukii Kannon-do

The ruins of Tsukiore Castle are located on the summit of Mt. Tsukiore at an altitude of 404m. The construction of Tsukiore Castle is said to be during the Oei era (1394-1424). Being involved in the battle for leadership of Koga Kubō, his vassals guarded the castle when Mr. Satake was dispatched. In the 7th year of Keicho (1602), the castle owner accompanied Mr. Satake to the transfer of Akita, so Tsukiore Castle, which lost the owner, was abandoned. Nowadays, a stone monument is erected, and you can spend a quiet time in the sunlight through the trees.
Tsukii Kannon-do is said to have been built in 807. It is said that in the 3rd year of Eiho (1083), when Minamoto no Yoshiie conquered Oshu, he stayed overnight in this temple and prayed for victory.

Ryutaiin

It is the second temple of the Seven Lucky Gods of Daigo, which enshrines Budai, the god of good fortune and peace.
It is a temple of the Soto Zen sect whose mountain name is called “Kumanoyama” and was built by Mr. Satake in the 2nd year of Tenbun (1533).
According to one theory, it is said that Yamabushi-ji Temple was located here even when it was founded in 1498, and Mitsukuni Tokugawa stopped by in the fall of 1695 to exchange Chinese poetry with the chief priest at that time. There is also an anecdote that he did.
The current main hall was built by Zenpo Mizudo, who became the resident of Sojiji Temple in Omotoyama in 1776.
The flowers of the temple are camellia, and a zazen meditation (reservation required) is held on the first Sunday of every month.
