GEO&NATURE-SE02:Quiet waterfall mecca – Nashikidaira area
Just off the national highway is an area of surprisingly rich nature and a cluster of waterfalls. In the vicinity of Nashikidaira in Oosuge-cho, Satomi District, “Kajikazawa-Odaki Falls”, “Kawagasawa-Medaki Falls”, and “Sugaya-Fudoson Falls” are located along the Kawagasawa River, and it is surprising to see such clear streams and falls right next to a national highway where cars pass by.
During the season of fresh greenery and autumn leaves, the colors of the trees and the waterside scenery resonate with each other, creating a magnificent view. In summer, too, the shade of the trees is cool, and this is a hidden gem spot that is never crowded.
Many of these small waterfalls can be found along Route 349 in the northern part of Ibaraki Prefecture. A walk along Route 349 in the northern part of Ibaraki Prefecture is an interesting way to explore these little-known waterfalls.
