An inbound seminar was held on March 10, 2024 (Sunday) to discuss the Hitachinokuni Long Trail.
We held trekking events and seminars mainly targeting foreign nationals living in Japan in order to convey the appeal of long trails and to cultivate a new group of people interested in them.
With participants of various nationalities, the seminar began with a trekking experience. | This tour will take visitors on a stroll around “Takado-Kohama” in Takahagi City, which is part of the Hitachinokuni Long Trail 2024 April. |
It is amazing to find such a beautiful beach so close to the station and within walking distance of town! Participants also stroll around with a fresh feeling. | Takado Kohama is a mix of rock and sand beaches. It has a little cove and is blessed with places to explore. |
There are also cave-like places like this that will get your adventurous spirit going. | Then from the Kansha shrine to the course of the Hitachinokuni Long Trail. |
Just a short walk from the beach, you can enter a quiet trail. | What did you feel from the appearance of the shrine that quietly watches over the village? |
The unexpectedly high cliffs and the power of the crashing waves will make you cheer. | After the trekking experience, move on to the Hozumi Family Residence, an old house that is also a cultural asset in Takahagi City. |
The tour will visit the Hozumi Family Residence, a valuable cultural heritage site where the main house and garden have remained unchanged since the Edo period. | We were served a local lunch specially prepared in the Hozumi family residence. |
In the afternoon, Dr. Morita, the lecturer, talked about the special background of the Hitachinokuni Long Trail. | Everyone listened attentively. |
In the latter half of the meeting, the participants sat in a circle and actively exchanged opinions. | It was a day of exposure to and thought about the Hitachinokuni Long Trail from a variety of perspectives. |
A day of seminars to think about the appeal of the Hitachinokuni Long Trail together with foreign residents in Japan.
We received many comments from the participants, including those who were surprised by the wonderful scenery and unexpected history of the region inherent in the Hitachinokuni Long Trail, as well as opinions on how to communicate the appeal of the trail to the outside world.
